WoW: Patch 9.1 Chains of Domination is live

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands players have waited far too long for new content, but now it’s finally over. Today, June 30th, 2021, the first major content update “Patch 9.1 Chains of Domination” was released. The maintenance work has been completed for a few minutes and World of Warcraft is accessible again, so everyone can dive into the new content.

The patch has also been live in Europe since June 30, 2021, 9:20 a.m.

What’s in the update? Patch 9.1 Chains of Dominion has a lot of content that players can play. Some of the most important are:

• 40 new levels of fame with new rewards
• Torghast gets new levels and a new progression with the “Box of Many Things”
• Korthia as a new mini area
• New ranks for legendary items
• New “Mythic +” season with a new rating system
• New PvP season with fresh rewards
• Numerous new mounts and pets to collect
• Lots of class adjustments

Content comes in stages: As is already the case with WoW, however, not all content is available directly at the launch. The raid “Sanctum of Domination” and the new dungeon “Tazavesh” will not open their doors until the coming week. The campaign will also gradually be activated over the course of the following weeks and months, as will the possibility of finally being able to fly in the Shadowlands.

Until when does the patch have to last? This is uncertain, but most speculation is based on around 6 months. Due to the home office situation, the production of content was a little slowed down, as Ion Hazzikostas revealed in an interview. However, he was confident that the situation was now under control and that upcoming content would appear sooner.
