So, well, the old-school RuneScape now officially supports clans, and there was a lot of joy as a result. A feature long coveted by the community, official support from Jagex is now being rolled out as part of the Clans update, which provides support for both new and existing clans. The Clan Center, located in the corner of the Grand Exchange, acts as a place for all things Clan-related in the Old-school Runescape. This includes things like forming, searching, and managing clans. The clans themselves can have up to 500 players, with the players occupying different ranks being determined by the clan leadership. New and existing clans will need to register their group in the game, but once you have all this set up, you can check out your personal clan hall, which is a private meeting area for clan members.
“Clans play an important role in bringing players together to create compelling and useful stories,” Old School RuneScape executive producer Rob Hendry said today in a press release. “Today’s Clans update provides a great opportunity for every old-school RuneScape player to develop existing relationships, build new ones, and share exciting experiences with like-minded people in our amazing community. Whether you’re learning the ropes during your first Gielinor world venture, cornering the market on a Big Exchange, or taking part in challenging endgame PVE and PVP content, clans allow you to do so with others who have similar goals.”
With Grand Exchange, clans will be able to use a variety of tools to encourage players to join their Clan, with a recruitment board, in-game special clan menus, and more. We already saw this system in Bless Unleashed. Last October, OSRS released a video dedicated to the RuneScape clans, featuring many of the players ‘ clan leaders.
And Old School RuneScape will host a live stream of the player on May 27 at 5pm ET/12pm ET/9am Pacific time on the official Twitch channel. The development team will be on hand to answer any questions players may have about the clan update in questions and answers during the stream. Old school RuneScape is gearing up for a major content update, Divided Kingdom, which kicks off on June 16. The new content brings with it the next chapter in the Kurend storyline.
