Anthem’s roadmap now seems completely unneeded, since BioWare said it won’t be able to deliver.
Anthem’s big 1.1.0 patch launched on April 24’s night, and despite it has new maintenance and a bunch of expected features, it brought some bad news as well.
Anthem’s content and events roadmap, which BioWare had represented soon after the game’s release, are not going to work as planned.
So, why is the new Anthem patch such a mess?
Act 1, which covers content updates in both April and May, is containing a lot of its awaited features delayed. BioWare published on Reddit that Anthem had “more things to fix and improve than we planned for”, and this is why much of that roadmap won’t be released this time.
The involved ones are the mastery system, guilds, weekly stronghold challenges, phase 2 of Legendary Missions, leaderboards, and freeplay events. Cataclysms, the biggest promised addition was, sure, will be delayed too.
BioWare has never spoke much about Cataclysms, except they’re big events that push the storyline of the game, and offer new content. More about the Cataclysms should be said in May.
“We know you have been waiting for these updates, and that you might not be pleased with where we are today. We understand and respect these perspectives,” the developer writes.
“The only thing we can say is this – we believe in Anthem. We believe the game will be great, but we recognise getting there will take a lot of hard work. We want to do that work and we want you all to join us on the journey to get there.”
BioWare didn’t deliver an updated roadmap, which may means, the delay can last long.
