Greetings! Today we’re going to review Oath, that’s new for sandbox MMORPG and has hitched itself to an action combat model as a main feature.
Oath is a creation of Ready-Up Studios, a team of five devs that hopes to increase its workforce will the game’s crowdfunding drive go well. The game is a free-to-play sandbox built using Unreal Engine 4 and SpatialOS. As the game’s FAQ says, the developers behind Ready-Up are apparently colleagues which had years of cooperative experience.
“Heyo! Our current game programmers both recently have worked at one of the biggest video game publishing/developing companies in Europe for many years. They are both full time on Oath now. We also have 1 web programmer and 1 sysadmin, those two both are working part time for Oath. All met throughout their careers.” – Ethan
Oath features seven classes in the form of Berserker, Pyromancer, Rogue, Guardian, Knight, Ranger, and Cryomancer with more planned later. Almost all of the game’s activities are PvE focused with dungeons, raids, and other group-focused content mentioned. They pursue a goal to create an MMO where combining is required in the interest of making a “community based game.” PvP is going to be in Oath as well, with arena modes including 1v1, 2v2, and CTF, along with promise of modes unique to the game.
The developers’ team is asking for $35k, as they say, the “lowest possible amount” required to bring the game to beta. Funding will be spent at content making, specifically icons, maps, 3D models, and UI. That said, Oath already have a core game that is ready to be shown in action. Watch the video below:
