Plague Inc. players will be stopping virus instead of spreading in new game mode

Those who have not  played video game Plague inc. it is a game where player creates virus, names it and tries to make it as deadly as possible and spread it across the world to infect and wipe out as much of the population as possible …. Sounds Terrible? Now  Game Developers in response to real-world pandemic covid-19 are going to create new game mode where players work toward stopping a global outbreak.

By the looks of it spread of infamous coronavirus sparked an interest in a Plague Inc. which showed in record-high numbers of players on Steam. Game developers warned players that Plague Inc. is not a scientific model, altho it was designed to be as realistic and informative as possible.

The creators of the game have also donated 250,000$ to aid fight against the covid-19 as Ndemic Creations announced yesterday.

Creator james Vaughan said: “Eight years ago, I never imagined the real world would come to resemble a game of Plague Inc. or that so many players would be using Plague Inc. to help them get through an actual pandemic,” . We are proud to be able to help support the vital work of the WHO and CEPI as they work towards finding a vaccine for COVID-19.”

CEPI is “a global alliance financing and coordinating the development of vaccines against emerging infectious diseases.” The WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund is attempting to raise $675 million to fund the Strategic Preparedness and Response Plan to track the coronavirus, buy and ship protective gear for medical workers, and accelerate efforts to develop tests and vaccines.
