According to reports last week that the casino, which has been abandoned since GTA Online launched in 2013, was going to be made playable in an upcoming update, Rockstar Games has posted a tweet confirming the rumours. The luxury casino in Grand Theft Auto 5‘s Vinewood district will go live.
The Construction Is Done
Earlier today, with its usual weekly update, a small but important tweak to Los Santos was made. Some players noticed that the “Opening Soon!” banner draped across the casino’s doors has disappeared, and small pieces of construction equipment now sit outside its doors. And it’s likely that we’ll see the results of that construction soon.
It’s unclear yet how exactly the casinos will be functioning, they will likely serve as another business for players to run, along with car dealing, nightclubs, and drug running. Casinos may also will be open for some fun hangout events with friends in-game.
That’s all we know for now. While waiting for the upcoming update to drop, we can celebrate knowing that another arena of vice and excess is on its way to the world of Grand Theft Auto.
