Some sickos amongst you should be happy with following news: Obsidian Entertainment claims: there are no essential NPCs in The Outer Worlds.
Actually you can kill any of them as long as you like the process, which developers demonstrated during an alpha gameplay demo at PAX East.
The panel featured The Outer Worlds’ co-directors, Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, lead designer Charles Staples, and senior narrative director Megan Starks, while Mikey Dowling, Obsidian’s director of communications, moderated.
“When you’re in the game, if it’s on a regular playthrough, you’re unlikely to be fighting in [Byzantium], although you can kill everybody and anybody if you want,” they said, before going out into the town to mow down all the soldiers and civilians.
The demo was also showed The Outer Worlds’ version of Fallout’s VATs, called tactical time dilation.
