Blizzard has announced Hearthstone: Saviors of Uldum as its newest expansion. Set to release on Aug. 6, Saviors of Uldum will contain the League of Explorers, who must work together to thwart the ongoing plans of Arch-Villain Rafaam and his League of E.V.I.L.
Saviors of Uldum
This is the second expansion in the yearlong Year of the Dragon storyline and begins where the action left off in the Rise of Shadows expansion. Players will also find a Solo Adventure that picks up where the Dalaran Heist Solo Adventure left off.
In a teaser trailer above you can see Togwaggle as he’s hovering over Madame Lazul’s Hearthstone-themed Tarot deck. As Togwaggle peaks at the top card, he’s blasted by music that many instantly associated with Hearthstone’s League of Explorers. Togwaggle finally manages to silence the blaring card, and as worry spreads across his face, he releases an emphatic “uh-oh.”
The new keyword you need to know is “reborn.” Reborn minions will return to life after being destroyed for the first time, and will spawn with one remaining health. There’s also a new spell type in “plagues”. Priest, Shaman, Warrior, Warlock, and Rogue, the five classes who represent the league of EVIL, will receive plagues. These powerful spells affect every minion on the board, meaning that they can very easily be a double edged sword.
In addition, players will be able to pre-purchase Saviors of Uldum card packs, that is also coming to Saviors of Uldum and can be played upon a hero’s first turn. The 50-pack bundle, which will cost $49.99 includes a random golden Legendary card from the expansion and an Elise Starseeker themed card back. The $79.99 80-pack Mega Bundle contains those bonuses and a new Elise Starseeker Druid Hero.
