Grand Theft Auto: Remaster of the three classics officially announced

There have been leaks, rumors, and tangible hints about a remaster of the three classic games GTA 3, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas for a long time. Now Rockstar Games has officially announced GTA: The Trilogy for the 20th anniversary of GTA 3.

When GTA 6 will finally arrive remains in the dark, but after many rumors, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy has finally been officially announced by Rockstar Games for all relevant platforms.

GTA 3 will be 20 years old on October 22, 2021. A remastered version of GTA 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will be released on this festive occasion. Rockstar itself has not yet given an exact release date, but the GamingIntel site allegedly learned the release date. According to the report, corresponding marketing budgets have been allocated, which indicate a release on 11/11/2021. Officially, this date should be confirmed on October 22nd at the latest.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is also celebrating an anniversary on November 11th, 2021 and an anniversary edition of the title will be released for the tenth birthday of the game. It is a bit strange that Rockstar willingly enter into this competition, but the players in these titles are unlikely to overlap too much.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy will be available for PC via the Rockstar Game Launcher, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, and Nintendo Switch. In the first half of 2022, the games will also appear for iOS and Android.

With the Remaster Edition, players should be able to look forward to “comprehensive improvements, including revised graphics and gameplay improvements for all three games”. However, the classic look and feel of the original games should be retained. More details will follow in the coming weeks and a trailer for the trilogy has also already been released, but this doesn’t reveal too much.

With the release of GTA: The Trilogy, the existing versions of the classic titles are to be gradually taken off the market and they are to be phased out of the digital range as early as next week. However, if you have already bought it, you can of course still download and play it.
