Well, the pretty New Genesis Phantasy Star Online 2 is fast approaching next month, and the SEGA team has released a test tool to give players an idea of whether their PCs can handle the upcoming MMO.
The tool, which is available for download from the Phantasy Star Online 2 website, includes a character creator so that players can pre-create their new characters ahead of the NGS launch in June. From there, you’ll be able to take this character data and export it for import into the final PSO2NGS version at startup. Although, keep in mind that existing characters from Phantasy Star Online 2 can also be ported to the new version of Genesis, so you don’t need to create a new character if you plan to stick with the existing one. The character creation tool also comes with a reference, giving players an idea of how the MMO will work on their setups. The benchmark itself also runs with the character you created, placing your character in the thick of the benchmark test.
But the download from the main PSO2 site is about 2.7 GB, so just keep in mind if you don’t have enough disk space. Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis will be released in June 2021, although the exact date has not yet been announced. However, we had the opportunity to work with the MMO in a recent beta test, when Steven broke down the good and the bad in the SEGA MMO.
