Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator adding multiplayer

Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator receive official multiplayer support

In 2021 Gaming Industry there is a trend to make all the games Online and if there are playable on console – to also introduce crossplay. Developers take into account success of mainstream games like Destiny 2. That game became massively successful which made Destiny 2 Boosting spread across the world very fast.

Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator both will have official multiplayer support, and an experimental open beta is now available for both. Multiplayer is offered as a Convoy that allows eight players to travel together in the same world: AIl traffic, time and weather are synchronized, and all eight players can do the same job.

The Convoy mode is now available for testing.

Both games already have mods that add multiplayer, but it’s good news that the functionality is built into the game, although not yet as flexible as some of the community-created features.

As this is an experimental open beta, there are currently limitations. Mods are not yet supported in multiplayer and everyone should use the same DLC as the host. There is more to consider, which is explained in detail in official SCS Software message board. However, you can rest assured that if you exit a multiplayer game, you will be able to revert to a previous save state.

Instructions on how to get started with Experimental Beta 1.41 can be found here. It is not yet known when the beta version of the update will end, but SCS is waiting for your feedback.
