ESO: the first content from the Blackwood Grand Finale is available

In the MMORPG Elder Scrolls Online, a new quest is now available for everyone – free of charge. The prologue leads directly to the last DLC of the year, Deadlands, and begins the finale of the current story.

What kind of prologue is that? “An Apocalyptic Situation” is a new free quest in Elder Scrolls Online. It forms the prologue for the upcoming expansion Deadlands, which will be released at the end of 2021.

Deadlands is also the conclusion of the year-round story “Gates of Oblivion” and accordingly the new quest brings you closer to the lands of the dead, the realm of Mehrunes Dagon. The current DLC Blackwood also comes to an end. As a refresher, here’s everything you need to know about Blackwood.

The Dremora Lyranth calls for your help so that you can take a closer look at the machinations of the Order of the Awakening Flame. “An apocalyptic situation” and the follow-up quest lead directly to the actions of Deadlands.

We cannot yet say exactly how the quest will run. But you should learn more about the plans of Mehrunes Dagon and discover new worlds and meet new enemies.

How do I get the quest? The prologue is free for all players who own ESO. You can easily buy it from the Crown Store without paying anything. You don’t need any previous DLCs or chapters.

The quest will be available in the shop starting today, September 30th. For completing the quest and the follow-up quest, you will receive a chic, unique mask.

Deadlands will be the final DLC for 2021

With Deadlands the story arc of the year-round story “Gates of Oblivion” ends, in which you as a player should close the said gates into the realm of oblivion again. Deadlands is slated for release in autumn, an exact date is still pending.

November is possible, because during Deadlands the new update 32 will also appear, in which you will finally get the loot that you are still missing. The update should come in November, according to Bethesda.

How exactly things will continue with ESO in 2022 can currently only be speculated. Maybe you won’t even be able to close the gates and Mehrunes Dagon will also be the big opponent of the next expansion? You will have to wait for the answer.
