Since Cyberpunk 2077 now is in less than a year away from launch, details about it are starting to come in extraordinary amount. But for those who put stock in replayabilty above all else, one vital question that remains unanswered is- will there be a New Game Plus? Well, though developers CD Projekt RED still haven’t confirmed it officially, it’s starting to look very likely that it will.
CD Projekt RED About Game Development
Over on Reddit, a user has posted a screenshot of his conversation with Lead Quest Designer Paweł Sasko via direct messages on Twitter, and he got back a fairly meaty response. While nothing is set in stone yet, Sasko says maxing out your character probably won’t be possible during your initial playthrough, as CD Projekt Red wants players to have to make meaningful choices.
“…that is something that we are still working on. So it may change in time, as we are looking for the best formula for the game. Most likely, it won’t be possible to max out everything on one playthrough, as it would have little sense to have a game that is about replayability and choices, while in the same time allow the players to max out all the stats on the first run…”
In other news about Cyberpunk 2077’s resemblance to The Witcher 3, CD Projekt Red has also stated that the game won’t have a traditional morality system. It depends on you to decide whether the decisions you’ve made are right or wrong. And also, the game will also have Witcher-3-style expansions. So, if you’ve enjoyed CD Projekt’s past work, Cyberpunk will be a right game for you.
Cyberpunk 2077 will be available on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on April 16, 2020.
