The release of a large-scale chapter Blackwood (“Black Forest”) for the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online has taken place. The DLC can already be tested by owners of PC, Mac and Google Stadia, but owners of Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and PS5 will have to wait on June 8th.
As part of the DLC, players will be able to travel to the region that is located at the junction between the provinces of Cyrodiil and Black Marsh. The story begins in the city of Leyawiin, which is familiar to many from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. In addition, the developers will allow you to visit the city of Gideon, which was only available in the original The Elder Scrolls: Arena, as well as the Niben Forest and the swamps of the Black Forest.
The developers are especially proud of the new satellite system. Now players can take on their team unique in-game characters controlled by artificial intelligence. Each of the companions will have their own background, unique quests and sets of preferences. By participating in battles and helping to complete tasks, dummies will be pumped, they will also be allowed to be customized.
In addition, the MMO has integrated a system of daily and weekly challenges, for completing which you can get the seal of achievements. For the latter, you can purchase items from crown boxes (loot boxes).
In the story campaign, players will meet old acquaintances: the bosmer Eveli Sharp-Arrow, the rogue dremora Lyranth and many others. Blackwood will take about 30 hours to complete. The heroes will have to uncover a conspiracy involving the deposed emperors of the Long House, which is somehow connected with the Daedric Prince of Destruction Mehrunes Dagon, who dreams of capturing Nirn.
The Blackwood expansion is the second of four paid DLCs coming with the Gates of Oblivion season. An update will also be released on June 18 that will adapt MMOs for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.
