Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition – new patch brings co-op mode

Friends of co-op games have a reason to be happy. With the new update for Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition, the developers have now officially added co-op mode to the game after they held a beta test for it last month.

Last month, the developers of Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition held a beta test for a co-op mode for their title. Here they have collected quite a bit of feedback and have continued to improve the mode. On July 7th they released a new update which, in addition to a number of changes, finally officially adds the co-op mode to the game.

According to the developers, the game should now run a lot more stable. The game should crash a lot less and freezes should also not occur as often. Also made some changes to the balance for different civilizations. Many of these changes and bug fixes came from feedback from players who participated in the co-op beta test.

For example, Hand Cannoneers received a 100% boost to their accuracy and Heavy Cavalry Archers now have a faster attack animation. The costs for some technologies and the attack damage of some units have also been adjusted. Furthermore, the Persian Elite War Elephant is now trained six seconds faster, so that it is now ready within 25 seconds. These now also cost 170 francs and 85 gold.
