Abandoned: the announcement of the app for the game has been postponed

Abandoned should actually have been properly announced using a dedicated app. However, the developers Blue Box Game Studios had to postpone this until August 2021 due to various factors.

The survival horror game Abandoned was supposed to be revealed a few days ago with the help of an app. On June 20th, Blue Box announced to Game Studios on Twitter that they had to postpone the app by three days due to “localization issues”. Now the studio head Hasan Kahraman reported in a short video to postpone the app again, this time until August 2021:

“The last few weeks have been very stressful for us. The team is very tired. We were hoping to use the app today and I know many of you were looking forward to it, I want to thank everyone for that, I appreciate that, but I have decided to postpone the app until August, which is when the first will be Trailer released. We just wanted to give you a solid first impression of the game. Right now the app has not gotten to that point. We want it to meet our own expectations. There are also a few bugs that we had to fix, and localization isn’t done yet. So yeah, I hope you can understand, I’m really sorry, and thanks for your support.”

The Reveal app for Abandoned is meant to be a kind of interactive experience that is meant to introduce the game. You could compare it to a playable trailer instead of a real demo, but many details about the app are not known. An announcement of this kind is something entirely new, so it could definitely be interesting.

Along with this disappointing news, Abandoned has also been at the center of some rumors lately. Players thought that Hideo Kojima and Silent Hill were involved in the project, which the developers had to deny.
