According to the official Devil May Cry 5 Twitter account, the first Devil May Cry is coming to Nintendo’s console this summer, but it’s only for the original game.
Why don’t developers make it for the Devil May Cry HD Collection? Well, maybe Capcom just wants to draw player’s attention first. Devs said before that there’s a possibility of Devil May Cry 5’s coming to Switch, if the new port of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen will successfully do. Probably they are testing things. Anyway, series director Hideaki Itsuno has told before that he would love to see Devil May Cry on Switch.
If DMC series makes it to the Switch platform, we maybe can expect that Dante will appear in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. As Hidaki Itsuno said, to make this happen, fans should campaign for Devil May Cry on Nintendo Switch. His literal words, “Devil May Cry has never been on a Nintendo platform. So it seems like the first thing to do would be to get Capcom to put Devil May Cry on a Nintendo platform in some way, shape or form – whatever game that might be.”
